Bugatti-inspired Sporting Watch from Ralph Lauren
The fashion and auto world join together quite frequently to produce some of the most elegant and dramatic pieces known to man. While a lot of these example are in the form of a vehicle that has been dressed up by a designer, some come as a fashion accessory inspired by a particular model. Timepieces are huge in this area, and this latest watch from Ralph Lauren is about as elegant a collaboration as one can get.
Ralph Lauren has unveiled a special watch inspired by his very own vintage Bugatti Type 57SC Atlantic. The Bugatti Sporting watch features a stainless steel case with a matte black dial and a wood finish of loupe d?orme or elm burl?in. These features are a throwback to the Bugatti’s iconic wooden dashboard and trim detail. Furthermore, the watch features Arabic numerals, arrow-shaped hour and minute hands, and a black calf leather strap.
This elegant timepiece is now available through Ralph Lauren’s Sporting collection for a grand price of $13,200. Not exactly cheap, but a heck of a lot better than the price associated with any Bugatti, let along a vintage model.

55 Chevy Bel Air Convertible WIP
While I am waiting for paint for both the 62 and the 55 I started work on the 55 Chevy. I know it doesn't look like I have done much but I removed the body sprue, removed all the mold lines and scribed the door lines and trunk line a little deeper and wider. Funny but the kit had the same mold lines on the top of the back fenders across the trunk and around the headlights. Maybe they used this mold to create the hardtop from a couple of years ago. Washed ot all off and I am waiting for it to dry before I Primer. I may also start on another one - I picked up a 63 Corvette Stingray at the swap meet at the last contest and I have always wanted to build a 63 as I think that is the best looking Corvette in the line! Here's a progress pic - thanks for looking!

Take a pick among General Motors? line-up of auto brands when it comes to overall popularity and chances are you?d take a while before picking Buick among them. It?s not the most popular brand by any stretch of the imagination, but thanks to a rejuvenation, Buick is looking like it?s going to be a major player in the mid-size luxury sedan with the 2012 Buick LaCrosse.
Taking the reins from the previous LaCrosse model, the 2012 model looks to take the company to the next level with an all new eAssist system that Buick is proclaiming to improve fuel economy by 25 percent. What?s most impressive about the new LaCrosse is that despite the state-of-the-art system that?s been given to the vehicle, Buick is not giving it an added impetus ? separate cost from the vehicle ? but rather, is putting the eAssist system as a standard feature in all 2012 models of the LaCrosse.
That, in itself, says a lot about Buick and it?s latest mid-size luxury sedan.

Pagani Zonda R
The Zonda is on the way out, but that doesn’t mean it will go quietly. So before the replacement for Pagani’s current supercar arrives, there is one more edition of this wild Italian. Pagani revealed this week the Zonda R in Vienna at the Luxury Motor Show.
The Zonda R is limited to only 10 units each priced at ?1.4 million euro (about $1.85 million at current rates). It will compete with models like Ferrari FXX and Maserati MC12 Corse. Just like those Italian exotics, don’t bother trying to hang a license plate on this Zonda; this car is track only.
Zonda R is powered by a V12 AMG engine that delivers 750 hp (100 more than the Zonda F) at 8000 rpm and 524 lb. ft. of torque. Although it looks like other Zondas, this only uses ten percent of the Zonda F components. New parts include a suspension forged in Avional (aluminium alloy), a new Pagani six-speed transversal sequential gearbox, and a carbon fiber monocoque chassis.
UPDATE 06/30/2010: Pagani has announced today that their Zonda R recorded a Nurburgring Nordschleife lap-time of 6:47. This is better than the 6:58 lap time Ferrari recently achieved in a 599XX.

UPDATE 12/10/2010:Marchettino has provided an eight-minute video devoted solely to one of our favorite cars in the world, the Pagani Zonda R. There aren?t a lot of cars on this planet that we can watch for eight minutes straight, but the Zonda R is definitely one of them. In this video, the Zonda R is being driven by former Formula One driver Andrea Montermini, where he takes one of the fastest cars in the world for a number of driving demonstrations, including launches, full throttle standing starts, tire-screeching accelerations, full-limit revs, and even fly-bys. trying again...1969 Dodge Super Bee
i had no success with my last kit, a revell 69 charger...acetone and styrene are not friends, and never will be.
so on to the next one. me being a mopar guy, i naturally chose the 69 super bee. its coming along nicely and im real surprised with the results so far. just one thing messes with my mind. the instructions say the motor is "chrysler engine red." as far as i know, and with the pictures id seen, the motor looks orange. stupid me, painted and built the motor in red, and the car is going to be orange. the question i propose is, is this motor supposed to be red, or orange?

Official F1 2010 game by Codemasters arrives in September

"F1 2010" is an upcoming official game of the 2010 FIA Formula One World Championship and will include all of the official 12 teams, 24 drivers and 19 circuits from the 2010 season. It will be released in September 2010 on the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and Microsoft Windows platforms. Before the opening race of the South Korean Grand Prix in October, players can drive the new Korean International Circuit!
Some of the features of the game have been revealed in the F1 2010 developer videos (below) by Codemasters Studios.
Tracks and Cars
The new video takes viewers behind the scenes at F1 2010 developers, Codemasters Birmingham, and shows how all of the cars and circuits from the exhilarating 2010 FIA FORMULA ONE WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP? have been painstakingly recreated in the game.
To deliver fans the most authentic FORMULA ONE? experience, CAD (Computer Aided Design) data and extensive reference photography has been used to accurately simulate the 19 circuits that will host the 2010 FIA FORMULA ONE WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP. Once tracks are created, former FORMULA ONE driver Anthony Davidson, who is working as Technical Consultant on F1 2010, gives his feedback from a driver?s perspective about the look and feel of each circuit in-game.
?Driving the real world circuits enables me to give that impression to the guys creating the game,? said Davidson. ?There?s all these details that only a driver would know about. For instance, turn eight in Spa; I know straight away any car I have ever driven there always understeers and it?s knowing that kind of detail as a driver that you can get over into the game. The circuits feel really spot on.?

Weather
In the video, the wide ranging effects of weather and their impact in the game are revealed. FORMULA ONE test driver Anthony Davidson explains that although you have some information about the weather at your disposal, how you use that information is crucial: ?The teams know by the radar where the weather is coming from and how long it?s going to last. You?ll be aware of what the weather?s doing roughly, and then you can make your call, just like you would in real life.?
In career mode, F1 2010?s weather system is fully dynamic, mirroring real life conditions which change at any time, whether between sessions or during a session itself. The weather authentically reflects the conditions at each of the 19 GRAND PRIX? locations, meaning rain is unlikely at Abu Dhabi but conditions can be unpredictable at Spa and Silverstone. Presenting a further challenge, players can set the weather conditions and experience the dramatic affect they have on racing in GRAND PRIX, Time Trial and Multiplayer modes.

Anthony Davidson, who has been embedded into the team, explains the unique ?twitchy? way in which FORMULA ONE cars handle and how this is translated into authentic gameplay. His experience, combined with real world data and feedback from the teams, drivers and tyre manufacturers is enabling the F1 2010 team to bring alive the sensation of being an F1 racing driver like never before. As in real life, aerodynamics plays a pivotal role in racing, and players will feel how cars can corner at extremely high speed yet perform very differently at lower speeds.
