One of the finest AZ restaurants. I steadily go back to this restaurant and receive the most smashing service! The steaks are great! Try the 9oz Sirloin, medium, it's absolutely mouth-watering! I say its one of the finest AZ Restaurants in the area.
All the dinners come with a bunch of sides which will keep the hunger monster away! The zucchini and onion rings are to die for & for dessert, Private Sized Deep Dish Pie in varied flavors ( I adore them all ) that are fantastic!
I am truly surprised Bill Johnson's came up on a listing of good BBQ spots in Phoenix. I had the babyback ribs and the sauce was less than spiced up catsup. If you want good BBQ go to a place that specializes in it!!!
From breakfast to dinner there food is delectable and filling! They have steaks and my favorite meatloaf. The lorry wheeler sampler will stuff you before your food arrives and there apple cobbler well it's a must . The atmosphere is fascinating too. As a kid I loved the saw dust on the floors and the bars on the windows like a western jail. The waitresses carry fake pistols and talk with accents.
If you live in Arizona, you have been to Bill Johnson's! It speaks for itself. Great restaurant ! One of my favorites! Tons of history behind it!
The sole complaint I will think about is we ate too much. I can't even tell you how much I adore Bill Johnsons Phoenix restaurant location!!! The atmosphere alone would keep me coming back again . Pulled pork, meat brisket, and hot links, is the perfect combination, to get a taste of everything that's excellent about Huge Apple. It's got a very comfortable dining room that's trendy and yet fully relaxed and friendly. The service was conscientious and knowledgeable.
Bill Johnson's is one of the finest cafes in phoenix where u can find the food is inexpensive & easy. It's lovable, and a custom, and also , the food, the service is also excellent. The wait staff is kind and beneficial. The corn was sweet and good and the sausage was great. I just adored the zucchini appetizer too!!! Love the sign outside though. I liked the relaxed feel of this place. Food was excellent. Service was good, staff friendly, wow, an excellent choice!
You forget you're in Downtown Phoenix when you step within. The sawdust makes it feel a bit like you step into the old west. The food and prices are good. Everyone will like this place.

Welcome to the Wild Wild West!
I walked in for lunch yesterday and felt I had stepped back in time. There had been sawdust on the floor, these large booths that were straight outta Vegas back in the day, and the servers wear guns on their hips. Engaging place, indeed. The car park was crowded, so we took that to be a good sign.
We had a large group, so we were seated in the back. They must have thought we were a tiny unruly or something. Anyhow, our server, who's name starts with an M ( it was not Maria and I do not like to get her name inaccurate ) was full of urine and vinegar--in a good way. She's from Germany, and she is funny as hell and damn good at what she is doing. She kept things humming at our table completely.
The menu had a good variety of selections , you can choose burgers, sandwiches, salads, and bigger plates, if you like. Their lunch special menu was a little limited, but a fair deal.
I ordered the cheeseburger, which came with steak fries and a small serving of peach cobbler for dessert. The burger was truly good and I loved the way in which the bun was just slightly sweet. Fries were just right...crispy on the outside and soft within. The cobbler was very good, although I only ate a quarter of it.
Liked the CHICKEN FRIED STEAK!!! I am going to be truthful, as long as a place has a good C.F.S, I'm in!! Been here lots of times growing up. Check the website, perhaps even call, but discover the specials that way you know what your going to get... Next time Im going to try the Apple Pie topped with a Piece of CHEESE.
Part of my crew ordered the three meat special ( sounds kinda risque ) and when I looked around, they'd inhaled their food. It looked like two differing kinds of bbq and a sausage.
I had a wonderful time here, but would really like to come back and try their breakfast a little time.
