If you want down home cooking in a terrific atmosphere for a couple or family this is the place; there is also a great bar adjacent to the lovely dining room. The best place in the county for a great American meal with a nouvelle cuisine twist.

Food was delicious and service was great. It has both restaurant and bar style atmospheres. Next time, I plan on just going to the bar for food and drinks. And in case you're wondering, the French Onion Soup was delicious!

Our hearty main courses were delicious: very tender Guinness braised beef stew. The chicken pot pie was kind of pricey at ($19) but it was huge and the menu said that it was made with Murray's free range chicken. Note to traditionalists: it's actually more of a thick soup topped with a rectangular, pastry puff-ish lid and not really a pot pie.

The chicken pot pie tasted good. It was served in a round ramekin bowl, not much bigger than the onion soup bowl with a piece of puff pastry that was baked separately from the pie and placed on top. The filling was tasty but the whole thing left me wanting more.

We kept watching these gorgeous looking desserts being served so we ordered three for the table. The Sticky toffee with vanilla ice cream was more like a bread pudding. I loved it but others weren’t thrilled. They preferred the warm chocolate cake with ice cream, which I was less crazy about. The apple tart with cinnamon ice cream was popular as well
