Iron Horse Pizza is one of the good solid Family Italian restaurants in Durango. Great Salad Bar, fresh made soups and great tasty pizza. Also has a full mid priced menu that offers Gluten Free Pizza, Lighter Fare meals and is family friendly. Beer and wine are available plus they have a patio for outside dining. Their buffet is fresh, hot and fast for those in a hurry.

My wife and I stopped in for the first time after visiting the area three times before. We did the simple pizzeria test - order a plain slice to formulate an opinion. My wife was confused with the slice of the day (spaghetti and meatball with ricotta).

We were very pleasantly surprised; the service was great and our waitress very friendly and helpful, and that wasn't because we were big spenders, we only ordered a soft drink each and a small pizza to share. We ordered the buffalo chicken pizza and the chicken and sauce was nice and hot but not so spicy that it was overwhelming, the pizza base was crisp and tasty (not at all greasy) and there was just the right amount of cheese. The price too was actually ok; it was more than we would usually pay for a pizza but not a lot, and we knew it would be a bit more as this is a tourist place.

The food is great. With many different dishes to choose from. The best is their pizza's. What ever you order, you get fast, hot and it taste great. The staff is friendly. The restaurant is always clean. You will enjoy!!!!!

I'm impressed with the service of my server. All were gracious and efficient. At the time there was a group of 40 from a sports team, but on a busy Friday night, every customer received good service. It was clear that management focused on service. Good job! The food was good too!

“Iron Horse” This place is great - it’s not fancy, but the people are friendly, it’s right on the Creeper Trail, the food is good and it has full RV hookups. I really like this place.
